The City of Lamesa’s over-year-old track record of escalating monthly sales tax returns finally came to an end this month.Dawson County, however, has again experienced an uptick in its sales tax revenue for June.The year-to-date totals on local sales tax rebates, which are received on a monthly basis from the state comptroller’s office, remain above last year for both local entities.The city’s June rebate of $173,564 is 2.5 percent less when compared to the $177,987 the city received in June of last year.The city’s total rebates so far this calendar year amount to $1,248,631, an 18-percent jump over the $1,057,800 ...
