Laura Zarate

    Memorial services for Laura Zarate, age 55, of Lamesa, Texas will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Daniel Alba officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
    Laura passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, April 27, 2023, in Lamesa, Texas. 
    She was born October 17, 1967, in Weslaco, Texas.
    Laura was preceded in death by her father, Eli Zarate; her grandparents, Pedro Zarate and Maria Zarate, and Alfredo Cruz and Ramona C. Cruz.
    Laura was a loving and dedicated mother who devoted her life to her daughter. Her hobbies included crocheting, reading, writing, and spending time with family and friends. Those who knew Laura loved her dearly.
    Laura is survived by her daughter, Jessica Zarate of Lamesa, Texas; her mother, Rosario Zarate of Lamesa, Texas; her brother, Eli Zarate, Jr. of Rhome, Texas; her sister-in-law, Sandy Zarate of Rhome, Texas; her sister, Silvia Iglesias of Lamesa, Texas; her niece, Kimberly Iglesias of Lamesa, Texas; several relatives and friends.
