Winners of the team roping competition, held in conjunction with last weekend’s Chicken Fried Steak Festival, have been announced.The event brought out 300 teams from across Texas and New Mexico.“It went really well,” said coordinator Cody King. “We’re really pleased with the turn-out.”Lubbock resident Pecos Patton was the high money winner of both divisions in roping. He captured a saddle and a buckle.Patton and Joey Martin of Flaton won the first roping competition.Cody Wheeler and Jarrod Cross, both of Midland, won the second roping contest.
