The public is invited to a publishing party to celebrate the accomplishments of six young children here who have recently had their own book published.The “meet and greet” event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Dawson County Public Library, 511 N. 3rd St., in Lamesa.“God’s Handiwork,” a picture book featuring the students’ favorite animals, is the creation of six students in the early-childhood program headed by Tracey Hernandez at Hernandez Christian Academy.The students spent about six weeks planning, writing and illustrating their own book using a free publishing kit provided by Studentreasures Publishing.The idea for the book started ...
