Brad Boyd

Funeral services for Brad Boyd, 69, of Lamesa, Texas will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at First Methodist Church in Lamesa with Dr. Phil McClendon officiating.
Burial will follow to Hancock Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
Brad was born on December 11, 1953 to Thomas and Lyna Rose Boyd in Lamesa, Texas.  He went to see the Lord on March 25, 2023.
Brad was raised in Lamesa and married Jan Roberts Boyd on September 21, 1974 in Lamesa where they farmed, raised their children and watched their grandchildren grow up.  He was a proud promoter of agriculture throughout his life.  Beginning in high school Brad was active in FFA.  He continued his commitment to promoting agricultural as a supporter and volunteer for the Dawson County Junior Livestock Show Association, serving on the Dawson County Cotton Board and Ag Committee, the Southwest Cotton Board and Peanut Growers, and as a member of Farm Bureau board.
Brad never met a stranger and could be described as a hard worker and a loving, supportive friend.  As a husband, father and grandfather he was kind, encouraging and gave unconditional love.   He was lovingly referred to as Pots by his grandkids, along with all the wonderful kids in his life.  Pots could always be counted on for any event or activity, to grill out for everyone, and as a devoted stock show attendee.  Brad also loved being young at heart.  His humor brought many smiles to friends and family whether through pranks, jokes, or just being goofy.  He was the guy you knew would have a smile for you, he was always willing to stop and chat for a while.  The legacy Brad leaves behind is a family and large group of friends who know they are loved and have a good example of what kindness looks like.
Over the last year, the work ethic and toughness Brad is known for allowed him to fight his cancer and be able to love on his family and friends a little longer.
Brad is survived by his loving wife Jan, daughter Julie Boyd of Dallas, son and daughter Andy and Morgan Boyd of Lamesa and grandson Kash Boyd of Lamesa.  He is also survived by his sister Gale Boyd of Ruidoso, NM.
Brad is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and LynaRose Boyd of Lamesa and his granddaughter Jadyn Boyd of Lamesa.
Brad’s family and friends were blessed to have known him and treasure having had him in their lives.  They are grateful that he has joined his precious granddaughter Jadyn so that they may skip through Heaven together.
