Lamesa Community Players (LCP) members are remembering one of their own by offering a $500 scholarship to an upcoming Dawson County graduating senior.The scholarship honors the late Samuel Leonard, a law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty almost two years ago, as a third-generation LCP member.“It’s in memory of him,” said LCP Board President Anthony Soliz.Leonard spent many hours with his family working on local theater productions.
