Lynn Bell Barron McCallister Brandt

    Mary Lynn Bell Barron McCallister Brandt continues her eternal walk with Jesus after completing her earthly journey on January 19, 2023. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. 
    Born on February 13,1929, just east of Lamesa in the Hancock community, she was the second of four children born to Fred Daniel and Ola Campbell Bell.
    She is survived by her son Gary (Shelley) Barron of Lamesa, her daughter-in-law Linda Caswell Barron of Lamesa, sister Beth Blair of Keene, and sister-in-law Anne Bell of Lamesa. Her grandchildren are Brooke (Marty) Adcock of Lamesa, Joshua (Kristen) Barron of Lubbock, Alison (Tim) Willits of Heath, and Whitney Barron of Lamesa.  Great grandchildren are Madison, Bryson (Harley), and Mason Adcock; Emmy, Caedmon, Hallie, and Cannon Barron; Finn, Ainslee, and Anne-Claire Jones; and Kamryn and Kolten Rickman. 
     Lynn was a pastor’s and farmer’s wife, mother, homemaker, Bible teacher, earned a Christian Ed certificate while attending classes with her husband Virgil at Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary, and small-business owner, i.e. Barron’s Fabrics. She served in these roles in a number of different locations, including Lamesa, Fort Worth, Pecos, Brownfield, Granbury, Denver, Victoria and Lubbock.                     
     A long-time member of Bacon Heights Baptist Church in Lubbock, she was a compassionate and faithful caregiver who loved watching sports events when she grew unable to demonstrate her impressive skills in golf, bridge, 42, and billiards. An avid traveler, she undertook mission trips to Brazil and Mexico, and relaxed the most on RV trips throughout the US.
     She was preceded in death by her son Owen Lynn Barron; her parents, sister Doris (and Fred) Jackson, brother Fred Waylon “Sonny” Bell, and brother-in-law Leon Blair; and three beloved husbands, Virgil Snell Barron, Thurman McCallister, and Marvin Brandt.
     A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorials to her childhood church, First Methodist Lamesa or a charity of your choice.
