Lamesa school board members have narrowed down the number of candidates seeking the superintendent’s job here from 22 applicants to only six who are expected to be interviewed.The board met for over an hour in a closed-door executive session to review applications during a special meeting Monday.“We thought we were going to be in there a lot longer,” said school board president Rebecca Gonzales.Candidates had about a month to get in their applications.
