Midland-based Halvey Energy has received a permit from the Texas Railroad Commission for a vertical oil drilling operation about nine miles east of Lamesa.The No. 1 Hawkins will be located about 1.75 miles north of the Key community and 110 yards east of FM 178.Drilling is scheduled to go to a total depth of 8,000 feet.
