Gretchen Proctor, an eighth-grade student at Borden County, is gearing up to compete in goat tying at the Mike and Sherrylnn Johnson Vegas Tuffest Jr. World Championship next month.Gretchen will be one out of the 840 contestants from 28 different states and four Canadian provinces competing in the event Dec. 1-5, the first weekend of the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.There were 38 qualifying events held across the United States throughout the year to give rodeo athletes from all over a chance to earn a trip to Vegas.
