A holiday tradition that last made its appearance here two years ago is returning this Christmas season.The Miss Merry Christmas pageant, last held in 2019, was put aside due to the COVID-19 pandemic.It’s making a return and organizers are currently looking for contestants – especially high school students – to compete for a $1,000 college scholarship, cash prizes, and crowns.The pageant, benefiting the Dawson County Public Library, begins at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 11 in the Lamesa High School auditorium.A day before the pageant, a Grinchmas Party will start at 10:30 a.m. Dec, 10 at the library.The gathering will include the ...
