Betty Lou Brandon

    Betty Lou Brandon, 88, of San Angelo, Texas made her flight to heaven on Saturday, October 29, 2022 with her loving family around her.  
    Betty was a longtime resident of Lamesa, Texas before moving to San Angelo.
    Betty was born to Harry Bennett Crutcher and Nannie Lea Light in New Moore, Texas on February 8, 1934.
Betty graduated from Lamesa High School in 1952.  She grew up working on the family farm.  In later years she worked as a night bookkeeper for Farmer’s Co-op Gin in Ackerly and the Tinsley Gin.  She was a strong, independent woman.
    Betty married Roy Brandon in 1952.  They had 4 children.
    Betty was strong in her faith in Jesus.  She taught that belief to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed sponsoring youth trips including river mission trips where she helped cook.  She also supported her children’s activities during their school years.
    Betty enjoyed and dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed playing various games with them for hours.
    Betty is preceded in death by her parents, her son Buddy Brandon; son-in-law Billy Jack Capps; grand-son-in-law Corey Cruce; sister Wanda Wise; brother Richard Crutcher; and 2 infant brothers.
    Betty is survived by her daughters, Jo Schooler of Snyder, TX; Sharan Bush (Randy) of San Angelo, TX; Brenda Capps of Big Spring, TX; and Connie Brandon of Lamesa, TX; sisters, Geneva Bowen of Amarillo and Una Kunkel of Austin; 8 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services for Betty will be Friday, November 4, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Crestview Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Bush officiating with Danny Hagins assisting.  Interment following at Dawson County Cemetery.
    Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
    Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home.  
    The family suggests memorial to your favorite charity.
    The family sends special thanks to the wonderful nurses at Enhabit Home Health and the sweet nurses and doctors at Shannon Hospital.  Also thanks to Crestview Baptist Church for the use of their church.
