Jimmy Freeman

    Funeral service for Jimmy Freeman, 83, of Lamesa, will be held Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Second Baptist Church.  Pastor Mark Adams will officiate, with Pastor Jim Medley assisting. Interment will follow at Dawson County Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. 
    Visitation will be held Friday, October 14, 2022, at Branon Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
    Jimmy went to heaven on his 83rd birthday on Friday, October 7, 2022, in Lamesa surrounded by his loving family. 
    He was born October 7, 1939, in Dawson County to Lorenzo Daily Freeman and Cora Lucille (Horn) Freeman. He was a lifelong cotton farmer in Dawson and Martin counties.  
    Jimmy is survived by Connie Campbell of Lamesa, and his children, Crystal Chambers and husband Brad of Amarillo, Melanie Freeman Littlefield of Lubbock, Jill Freeman Adams and husband Mark of Austin, and Julie Pringle and husband James of Amarillo. He has eleven grandchildren, Aria Pendem (Kiran), Ellie Studdard (Cameron), Daniel Chambers, Mary Claire Bass (Trey), Madeline Adams, Laura Marie Littlefield, Rob Littlefield (Kondi), Jake Pringle, William Adams, Judd Pringle, and Maisie Adams. He has two great grandchildren, Golnessa CantuPendem and Molly Quinn Studdard. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Suzy Freeman, and lifelong best friend, Raymond Witte. 
    Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, L.D. Freeman and Bob Freeman and his sister-in-law, Margaret Freeman.
    Jimmy was a happy man. Trusting God’s guidance was his way. He loved his family and farming. He loved Jesus and his country. We are beyond grateful for the privilege of having him as a father, companion, grandfather, and friend. He loved us all unconditionally and he showed up for all of us in every possible way, every day of his life. We are thankful for the hope of heaven through the cross. He leaves us with a legacy of goodness, kindness, character, and faith.
