LeRoy Bowens

    LeRoy “Peter Rabbit” Bowens, 81, departed this life on Monday, August 29, 2022. 
    Celebratory Service will be held Friday, September 16, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Prayer House COGIC, Lamesa, TX. Interment will follow at Dawson County Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. 
    LeRoy was born to Nelse and Bertha Bowens on April 7, 1941. He attended Blackshear High School. 
    He leaves to cherish his memory; his daughters, Sonya Terrell, Tammy Chikavanga (Pedazi), Tiffany Perry (Uriah), and Nicole Brown; his son, Michael Thompson; special companion, Karlene Maxwell; his sister, Nelwyn Williams; childhood friend, Hezekiah Edwards; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
