Press-ReporterYou could say Raven Salazar is keeping a family tradition alive by stepping into her older sister’s shoes.Raven has taken over her sibling’s former role as Lamesa High School’s mascot, Tony the Tornado.Madison Salazar was Golden Tornado mascot in her final year in high school.Both sisters got their start in the mascot business as middle school students. Raven was Tori the Tornado during pep rallies as a seventh grader, and Madison wore the costume as an eighth grader.“All it takes is really a great energy. You have to have an energized personality,” said cheerleading coach Stephanie Reyna.“She’s full of spunk.
