Cal Ripken district commissioner Rick Wallace announced this week that Lamesa will again be hosting one of the district baseball tournaments at the Bill Weaver Youth Sports Complex this summer.“We’re going to have our 10-year-old district tournament here June 22-26,” Wallace said.Among the cities playing here that week will be Kermit, Andrews, Denver City, Brownfield, Seminole and Stanton.The top finishers in the district tournaments advance to state.“The main thing we’re hoping to get out of these tournaments is getting these kids experience from year to year,” Wallace said.Lamesa’s 12-and-under Cal Ripken all-stars will play in a district tournament June 22-26 ...
