Graveside funeral services for Garland Edgar Beatty, age 84, of Lamesa, TX. will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the Dawson County Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Danny Welch.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
Family visitation hour will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2022 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home.
Garland passed on Sunday, May 1, 2022 in Lamesa.
He was born October 4, 1937 in Vernon, TX., to his parents, John William Beatty and Annie Mae Barnett Beatty. Garland married Lillie Florence Harris on October 7, 1960 in Lamesa, TX.
Garland is preceded in death by his wife, Florence, his daughter, Melinda Rena Stout, grandson, Bradley Wayne Stout, his parents, four brothers, four sisters.
Garland was a mechanic, worked for TST Parafin Services, had his own trucking company, Beatty Wrecker Service, and generally Jack of all trades. Garland lived in Lamesa all his life. Garland loved his mornings at the coffee shop with all his friends.
Garland is survived by his son, Garland DeWayne Beatty and spouse Nancy of Lamesa, TX.; his grandsons, Randy Lee Stout and spouse Sabrina of Lamesa, TX., and Richard Lee Beatty of Big Spring, TX.; his great-grandchildren, Dominic and Nicholas Stout; his four brothers, John Beatty and spouse Beverly of Brownwood, TX, Bobby G. Beatty of Brownwood, TX., Jimmy Beatty and spouse Kaye of Lamesa, TX., and Nickey Beatty and spouse Vicki of Justin, TX.; three sisters, Wilma Taylor of Lubbock, TX., Sharon Diggs, and Betty Leonard, both of Lamesa, TX.; numerous relatives and friends.
Honoring Garland as his pallbearers are, Dusty Parks, Cory Parks, Kelly Parks, Alvin Jarrett, Austin Gonzales, Dilan Gonzales.
