COVID cases down to zero

For the first time since last June, the South Plains Public Health District (SPPHD) is reporting no active cases of COVID-19 in Dawson County.That’s according to an update sent out Wednesday evening by SPPHD Executive Director Zach Holbrooks.The report shows only five active COVID cases across the five-county health district – three in Terry County and two in Lynn County.After first hitting here in late March of 2020, active COVID cases topped 200 during the late fall of 2020 but waned during the early months of 2021 after vaccines became widely available.Active cases numbers eventually dropped to zero for a ...
