Peggy Barron

    Funeral services for Peggy Ann Barron, 89, of Lamesa will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 10 a.m. at the Lamesa Church of Christ with Brother Mark Hackett officiating and Lee Lennon assisting.
    Interment will follow at the Dawson County Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.  
    Visitation will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home. 
    Peggy passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022 in the comfort of her home in Lamesa, Texas.  
    She was born February 19, 1933 in Eldorado, Texas to James Herod Lowe and Dahlia Faye (Johnson) Lowe.
    Peggy was a longtime member of the Lamesa Church of Christ.  She and Norris lived and farmed south of Lamesa where they raised their three daughters.  She was a Silver Spur Award honoree for her leadership with the Lamesa 4-H Club.  They owned and operated The Kids Shop with their daughters for 22 years, was a member of the Lamesa Chamber of Commerce and the Retail Trade Committee, a member of the Dawson County Museum Board of Directors and later was instrumental in the founding of the Dal Paso Museum.  Before retiring she owned and operated Mimi’s Attic and the Barron Building Event Center.  She loved sewing, decorating, and gardening.  Peggy was also a dedicated member of the ‘61 Heritage Club doing many civic activities for the community. 
    Peggy is survived by her husband, Norris Barron.  They celebrated their 71st anniversary one week ago.  She is also survived by her daughters, Nancy Franklin and husband, Jerry Dee of O’Donnell, Cindy Hatchett and Linda Taylor of  Lamesa; brother, Jim Lowe and wife Cindy of Cedar Hill; grandchildren, Misty Taylor, Kristy Robinson (Adam), Kevin Taylor (Beth), Richie Franklin (Sabrina), Melissa Clark (Aaron), Kurt Taylor, Tyler Franklin, Steven Hatchett (Darby), Todd Hatchett (Maria), Chris Hatchett (Cheryl),  and Shawn Hatchett (Becky); and numerous great grandchildren. She was so grateful to her beloved caretaker Enis Weiler.
