Six young ladies from Lamesa High School will be spending part of their Spring Break this week at Corpus Christi, but it won’t be all fun and games.They will be competing in the state high school girls’ powerlifting championships Thursday through Saturday at the American Bank Center Exhibition Hall’s Bert Ogden Arena.They earned their trip to state by finishing among the top two lifters in their weight classes at the regional meet held earlier this month at Shamrock.While senior Jocelyn Marroquin is heading back to state for the second straight year in the 114-pound weight class, it will be the ...
