Both Dawson County and Lamesa are enjoying another month of higher-than-usual sales tax rebates.Rebates to both entities are higher this month than they were in March of last year.The rebates represent local sales taxes collected by merchants and sent to the Texas comptroller’s office along with state sales tax revenue. The local tax revenue is then rebated monthly to the city, county or other entities for which it was collected.The March rebates represent purchases made during January.Dawson County collected $98,051 this month.
