A back room behind the circulation desk at the Dawson County Public Library is designated for one purpose: to assist those tracing their family histories.The shelves of books cover burial lists, land grants, U.S. Census lists, court records, tax rolls and county histories.Those books, along with research and Texas history books on the library’s other shelves in front of the circulation desk, cannot be checked out.
