Delia was born on September 7, 1940 and passed on February 7, 2022, surrounded by her children as she took her last breath.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chepo Gonzales; parents, Tiofilo and Elena Balderas; son, Louis Gonzales; Granddaughter, Naomi Ann Garza; Great-Grandson Theodore Stephen Whiteway
Delia was the Queen and Rock of her beloved family. Along with her late husband, they gave their all and then some as they were a true team in loving unconditionally.
They wanted to make sure every single one of their 7 children, 18 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren all had wings to fly. Delia loved when family and friends would visit. She inspired many with her gift of decorating her humble home. She would cook the best food, as her entire family remember the yummy homemade tortillas and delicious tamales. Most of all she loved reading the Bible and wanted to get close to Jehovah God. She wanted him to be her friend and she counted her blessings each day.
She had a short setback with her health, but that didn’t stop her loving family from honoring her in making sure that she was taken care of in a special way. Her children spent quality time pampering her, taking her out to her favorite restaurants and going on outings. These things amongst others made Delia feel very loved. She will be greatly missed, but will always live in our heart’s forever.
Delia is survived by her children, Jose Gonzales III (Maria) of Costa Rica; Diane Zertuche of Allen, TX; Mary Lou Garza (Santos) of Rockwall, TX; Christella of Irving, TX; Nancy Valderrama (Jimmy) of Allen, TX; and Michael Gonzales (Melissa) of McKinney, TX; her sisters, Betty Balderas of Lamesa, TX; Lydia Flores of Lamesa, TX; Yolanda Jasso of Water Valley, TX; her brothers, Arthur Balderas of Kyle, TX and Juan Balderas of San Angelo, TX; and her lifelong friends, whom she considered sisters, Estella Ortiz, Josie Basaldus, and Tommie Valderama.
Pallbearers will be her 6 loving grandsons, Robert Solis Jr., Jose Carlos Gonzales, Santos Garza Jr., Nathan Acosta, Thomas Acosta and Kolbie Gonzales.
