David Ruiz

    Graveside service for David T. Ruiz, Sr., known as “Chief”, 77, of Lamesa, will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Dawson County Cemetery with Father John Rathinam officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
    Rosary will be held Monday, January 31, 2022 at 7 p.m. and Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 7 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home Chapel.
    David passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022, in Lubbock Texas surrounded by his family. 
    He was born December 24, 1944, in Stanton, Texas to Catarino Ruiz and Maria Tienda Ruiz. He married Yolanda Romo in Lamesa on September 12, 1964. They were married 57 years. 
    He was a hard worker all his life. David was a diehard Denver Broncos football fan. He loved watching John Wayne movies and spending time with his grandkids.  He loved gathering with his McDonalds coffee buddies and will be missed by all those who loved him.
    David is survived by his wife, Yolanda of Lamesa; children, David Ruiz, Jr. and wife, Gabriela of Odessa, Edward Ruiz and wife, Anna of Lamesa, Diana Ruiz of Lamesa and Ambrie Vidaurre of Brownfield; sister, Enriqueta Lara and husband, Ismael of Lamesa; brother, Lorenzo Ruiz of Lamesa; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 
    He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Juan Ruiz and Arturo Ruiz.\
