SNYDER – The abatement of the old Hermleigh school has began and this week the board approved spending $156,216 to demolish the old school.The Hermleigh Independent School District Education Foundation will fund the project for the district.The board decided to opt out of the Texas Retirement System ActiveCare Program and will instead offer health insurance through the Texas Educator Health Plan.When the district gave teachers the option between ActiveCare and Texas Education Health Plan for insurance on their health insurance, faculty and staff went with the latter.– From the Snyder News ...
