Banks, federal offices and some schools are closing next Monday in recognition of Columbus Day.Students in Lamesa and Dawson schools will be out of classes, but school employees will still work Monday since it is a staff development day.Students and staff at Klondike and O’Donnell schools are taking the federal day off.The Sands school at Ackerly will be closed on Friday, but staff and students return Monday.Borden County school and Howard College’s Lamesa campus will remain operating Monday.The post office is closed Monday, so there will be no mail deliveries that day. Deliveries will resume Tuesday.City hall will be open.
