ANDREWS – A recent increase in COVID-19 patients at Permian Regional Medical Center (PRMC) has led to a shortage of staff, PRMC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Donny Booth told hospital directors Thursday.The shortage has resulted in the hospital requesting the state to provide nurses, Booth said.As of Thursday, PRMC had 10 virus patients - two of whom had been waiting 48 hours to be transferred to larger medical facilities for a higher level of care, according to the PRMC CEO.Booth said PRMC is requesting four additional nurses from the state.“The patients we’re seeing now are of higher acuity – they’re ...
