With only three members in attendance, the Dawson County Hospital District board gave final approval to the district’s 2021-2022 tax rate on Tuesday evening with two members voting for the measure and one abstaining.Board members Lonny Ferguson and Nicky Chapman voted to keep the tax rate at the current figure of 40.5028 cents per $100 valuation to help fund a budget of more than $20 million that was adopted earlier this year.Board president Joe Cope abstained from voting.“Can’t vote for something I don’t believe in,” Cope said about his reason for abstaining.The board has voted three times on adopting the ...
