Klondike’s state-ranked Cougars’ got a head start on the new football season by playing their season opener on Thursday instead of the customary Friday night.
And Thursday proved to be a good night for the Cougars.
The Cougars opened the season with a win by pounding Sanderson, 55-6, at Rankin in a game stopped just 48 seconds into the second half on six-man’s 45-point mercy rule.
“We came up with big plays on both sides of the ball but we’ve got to work more on our conditioning. All in all, we’re proud of our guys’ effort,” Klondike Coach Dalton DeGraffenreid said.
