City garbage collection is returning to normal while city streets and Forrest Park continues recovering from the impact of the severe storm that hit Lamesa on June 26.
The storm, which included extremely heavy rain, hail and high winds, damaged homes and businesses, flooded streets, took down power poles and lines, and caused an array of other damage.
Several streets still have water over them almost three weeks after the storm, said Robert Ramirez, the city’s public works director.
Main and Houston avenues, between N. 7th and N. 10th streets, still have water over them from the Boys and Girls Club Lake.
