It could be a long wait before the Lamesa Independent School District (LISD) gets a full financial tally of damages inflicted on school facilities during the June 26 storm here.
The storm damaged buildings on all the district’s five campuses. The middle school sustained the majority of damage when water flooded hallways and classrooms.
Insurance adjusters and engineers were out this week surveying the damage while construction crews tore out flooring and sealed hallway entrances with plastic while dehumidifying the spaces.
