Members of the Dawson County Commissioners Court are expected to extend the county’s local disaster declaration during a special called meeting at 10 a.m. Monday in the county courtroom at the courthouse. In the wake of the ex tensive damage from last weekend’s severe storm, County Judge Foy O’Brien this past Monday took action to declare a local state of disaster. The judge’s proclamation, however, must be followed by formal action from the county commisioners court in order to remain in effect.
