TOPEKA – The extent of damage to the Lynn County Courthouse continues to be assessed more than three weeks after a waterline burst above the third-floor balcony over the district courtroom and water gushed into the building throughout the night of May 25.
The flooding was discovered the next morning, when courthouse employees arrived to discover water dripping down walls and onto furnishings, computer equipment, and paperwork, as well as flooded carpets and wood floors throughout the four-story historic courthouse.
