Lamesa’s Emma Garcia and Borden County’s Haddie Flanigan didn’t know each other until this past weekend.
But they played their final high school game together as teammates in last Friday’s Greater West Texas Softball Coaches’ Association game at Wolfforth.
“I really didn’t know Haddie until this past weekend. She’s pretty good – she’s also pretty quick,” Garcia said of Flanigan, the District 4-2A Offensive Player of the Year.
Flanigan finished Friday’s game with a great deal of respect for Garcia as well. Garcia was District 3-3A’s Defensive MVP.
“Emma’s quick, plus she can throw pretty hard,” Flanigan said.
