You don’t normally see a Lubbock television news cameraman at city hall, a standing-room-only audience, clapping, smiles, or tears from a grateful business owner during a city council meeting.
That was what happened Tuesday in a span of only seven minutes as the council voted 6-1 to approve the sale of two downtown lots to Cody Sandlin.
It was a turnaround from a 4-3 vote last month against the Lamesa Economic Development Corporation’s (LEDC) deal to sell the vacant lots at 118 Austin Ave. to Sandlin for the site of a proposed One Guy from Italy restaurant.
