ANDREWS – Andrews County received more rainfall over the past couple of months than earlier anticipated, which has helped reduce dangerous fire conditions that existed early on in the spring fire season.
Current conditions - along with long range forecasts - allowed for commissioners court on Tuesday to lift a 90-day burn ban that had gone into effect in April.
The court’s action was based on a recommendation from Andrews County Fire Marshal Mike Cook, who addressed commissioners during the meeting.
The current conditions also don’t warrant a ban, or restrictions, on upcoming fireworks sales that begin later this month, according to the ...
