Lamesa’s girls softball team made it as far in the playoffs as ever before. To see their last game, we traveled to Abilene on a Saturday. Two of our exchange girls were on the first team fielded by Lamesa in 2010. Neither had ever played softball before, and one broke her thumb and never played a real game. I took a Thai girl to watch the game against Holiday. The stadium at Abilene Christian University is first-rate.
