Iris Smith

    Graveside service for Iris Glenn Smith, 77, of Lamesa will be held Thursday June 10, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Hancock Cemetery with Billy Ray Mayfield officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. 
    Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Branon Funeral Home.
    Iris passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021 in Tahoka, Texas.  
    She was born March 30, 1944 in Sweetwater, Texas to Claude Swann, Jr, and Jesse Glenn (Scott) Swann.  She married Clinton “Bud” Smith September 23, 1961. They were married 59 years.  She began riding horses at the age of 3, and enjoyed roping and running barrels.  Iris worked alongside Bud and Ronnie driving tractors. She also worked at Margie’s Flowers for a few years.  She was a member of the Lamesa Rodeo Association and the West Texas Barrel Roping Association.
    Iris is survived by her husband, Bud Smith; children, Ronnie Smith and wife, Jennifer and Clintonna Todd and husband, Blaine, all of Lamesa; sister, Claudia Bomar and husband, Randy of Ballinger; grandchildren, Darby Smith, Shelby Smith, and Bry Alan Todd; Kelly Jo Maben and husband, Tye and their daughter, Mayce; sister in laws, Sharon Flippen and Donna Norris; and numerous nieces and nephews. 
    Iris is preceded in death by her parents.
