The Lamesa City Council’s divided vote last month rejecting a land sale for a proposed downtown Italian restaurant offering alcohol near a church could resurface for their reconsideration. Supporters of bringing A Guy from Italy restaurant to the town square are circulating petitions requesting either the council revisit the deal or put it to a vote before the city’s registered voters. “Revisit it and pass it, or it goes before the voters,” said Carter Schildknecht, who helped organize the petition drive.
