Creation of a new elections administrator position will take over duties currently handled in two different county offices and put them under one person’s responsibility. Members of the Dawson County Commissioners Court on Tuesday unanimously approved creation of the new position and the designation of a local elections commission. The move will streamline the election process by consolidating the county elections and voter registration responsibilities, according to County Clerk Clare Christy.
