One of the Golden Tornadoes’ best softball seasons came to a halt Saturday morning at Abilene Christian University where a red-hot Holliday squad rolled past Lamesa, 27-4, in the second game of their Class 3A regional semi-final series. Knocking off Alpine, Slaton and Shallowater, the Golden Tors matched the farthest that a Lamesa softball squad has gone in the post-season since 2013 when they lost to Hawley in the regional semi-finals. Lamesa went 10-0 against their District 3-3A opponents to win their first league crown in school history.
