Jane Schwartz

    Funeral service for Emma Lee Jane Wilson Schwartz, 82, of Lamesa will be held Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Lamesa with Pastor Brian Pinkerton officiating. 
    Interment will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. 
    Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home.
    Jane passed away May 12, 2021 in Lamesa, TX.  
    She was born September 29, 1938 in Paducah, TX to Wheeler Doyl Lee Wilson and Clara Mae Hamrick Wilson.  She married Edward Dale Schwartz May 29, 1959 in Lamesa, Texas.  They would have been married 62 years.  
    Jane worked as a secretary for many years and was known as Ms. Jane…by all her kids who loved her at First Baptist Church Mother’s Day Out (MDO) for 45-plus years. She was a leader for the Brownies and Girl Scouts, and helped with Dawson County 4-H and Dawson County FFA. Jane served on the Medical Arts Hospital Auxiliary for 55 years and was the longest service person. She also volunteered on various committees with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. In 1999 she was awarded the Eckerd Salute to Women as a local honoree. She was a member of First Baptist Church for many years until the time of her death. 
    Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Edward Dale Schwartz of Lamesa, TX.; daughter, Emma Daleyn Schwartz of Plainview, TX.; son, Edward Doyle and wife, Stacy Lynn Waldrop Schwartz and her parents, David Waldrop and wife, Doris all of Midland, TX.; brother-in-law Walter Schwartz and wife Sandra of Burnet, TX.; and many nieces and nephews. 
    She is preceded in death by her parents; son, James Michael Schwartz; and brother, Billy Doyle Wilson.
    The family suggests memorials to American Cancer Society – Lubbock Hope Lodge, 3511 10th St. Lubbock, Texas 79415 or Medical Arts Hospital Auxiliary c/o Betty Mooney 122 N.E. 27th  Street Apt. 4, Lamesa, Texas 79331 or a charity of your choice.
