After the COVID-19 pandemic altered and disrupted graduation activities for local high school seniors, the situation is returning to normal this year as active coronavirus cases dwindle and vaccination numbers continue to rise.
Last year, graduation ceremonies at six schools were either postponed until June, held with reduced attendance numbers, and/or held outdoors in response to statewide COVID-19 restrictions.
Other traditional senioryear activities, such as prom, were cancelled altogether.
When the Class of 2021 walks down the aisle this month they will be taking part in more of traditional activities prior to COV-1D-19.
The Lamesa school district will be holding two graduation ceremonies.
