After only about 13 months in the position, Sean Overeynder has resigned as Lamesa’s city manager.
Lamesa City Council members voted 6-1 to accepting City Overeynder’s resignation during a special called meeting late Friday afternoon.
Overeynder apparently submitted his letter of resignation during a closed executive session at the meeting.
“Unfortunately, we are here to discuss Mr. Overeynder’s resignation effective immediately,” Mayor Josh Stevens said after the council returned to open session.
Council member Doug Morris made the motion to accept the resignation.
Stevens cast the only dissenting vote.
