Edith Peterson

    Edith McGuire Peterson, 86, of Lamesa, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. 
    Arrangements are under the care of Branon Funeral Home. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date.
    She was born August 29, 1934 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Joseph and Mamie (Willoughby)McGuire. She married Ross Peterson May 22, 1953 in Lamesa, Texas. They were married 45 years until his death in 1998. Edith was a long-time member of Sunset Baptist Church.
    She is survived by her children, Susie Brown of Lamesa, TX., Cindy Lentz and husband Randy of Lamesa, TX., Terry Peterson and wife Kim of Lexington, SC, and Belinda McCleskey and husband Kent of Kempner, TX.; twelve grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; sisters, Geraldine Jones of Dallas, TX., Dorothy Peterson of Dallas, TX. and Delta Walker of Lake Texoma.       
    Edith is preceded in death by her husband, Ross Peterson; parents Joseph and Mamie McGuire; son-in-law Roger Brown; brothers, George McGuire, Van McGuire; and sister, Flora Belle Sheen.
