R.C. Shaw

    Russell Carl “R.C.” Shaw, 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 2, 2021 in Kingwood, TX. Randy, his son, was by his bedside.  
    R.C. was born in Lamesa, TX in 1937, the only son of Oliver Russell “O.R.” & Ilene Lightfoot Shaw. He graduated from Lubbock High School in 1955 and went to work for William Cameron & Co. He was introduced to Gloria Whitener at a local football game, and they married on August 10, 1957.
    A life-long “lumberman”, he worked in the wholesale and retail building supply industry for Cameron & Co., Duncan Lumber, Galbraith Wholesale, and Higginbotham-Bartlett, among others.  
    He is survived by his sister, Lanell Zips, of Wolfforth, TX and his son, Randy Shaw, of Kingwood, TX.
    He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Gloria Whitener Shaw., his parents, and his sister, Merle Shaw, of Lubbock, TX.  
    A memorial service will be held at a future date in Lubbock, TX.
