SEMINOLE – When the Seminole City Council met on Monday, there was no new business, but City Manager Tommy Phillips gave the council an update on the city’s water supply. Earlier this month, city officials asked residents to reduce water consumption due to a brief shortage. “What was frustrating,” Phillips said, “was that when it happened, we had no immediate explanation.” Now they do. “What we have found is that the wells that had the variable frequency drive pumps on them were programmed incorrectly, so they were coming on at 50 hertz instead of 60 hertz.
