Less than six months after hiring an out-of-town company to mow 11 municipal parks twice a month, Lamesa City Council members Tuesday night unanimously agreed to give 30-day notice canceling the contract and denying payment to the contractor for any recent work.
Council members agreed last fall to hire the company, Pathfinder Industries of Lubbock, to mow the parks for $10,400 per month.
Company officials signed the contract in October and began work in January.
But city officials discovered last month the company was unable to comply with a contract demand, said Mayor Josh Stevens.
