Drug usage is being blamed as the cause of a fire which destroyed an abandoned house and kept local firefighters busy for about three hours early Saturday morning.
Fire Chief Larry Duyck said the fire was not set intentionally but was an accidentally ignited by a group of people who had gone inside the vacant structure to do drugs.
“There apparently were five or six people in there doing drugs,” Duyck told the Press-Reporter.
During their drug use they reportedly wrote some letters and then decided to burn them.
