Rosita Mendoza

    Funeral services for Rosita M. Mendoza, age 78, of Lamesa, TX. will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, April 9, 2021 at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Daniel Valenzuela officiating. Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. 
    Face mask are required at the funeral home and cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home. 
    Visitation and viewing will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
    Rosita passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at her home in Lamesa, TX. 
    She was born March 7, 1943 in Edinburg, TX. Rosita married Jose Lopez Mendoza on October 12,1963 in Lamesa, TX.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Lopez Mendoza; her brothers, Ramiro Munoz and Carlos Munoz; and her sister, Imelda Morgan.
    Rosita was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a homemaker, loved her plants, and was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
    Rosita is survived by her son, Jose Mendoza, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Michelle Mendoza of Lamesa, TX.; her granddaughter, Savannah Rose Mendoza of Ironwood, Michigan; her step-granddaughter, Xena Contreras of Welch, TX., her step-grandsons, John Contreras, and Aaron Contreras, both of Lamesa, TX., and Justin Contreras of Welch, TX.; her sisters, Frances Rodriguez, and Virginia Garza, both of Alice, TX.; numerous relatives and friends.
